This drawing is from a portfolio from the time Adams studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna Schillerplatz (1892-1896) and is dated 1894. The energetic look and facial features make for an apt and appealing study portrait. Adams received a total of three awards for his drawing talent during his time studying at the Academy Schillerplatz Vienna.
