This probably small format watercolor study appeared recently in the internet trade and was labeled "Dutch Girl". It is one of the few surviving watercolors by Adams and is of particular appeal due to the coloring (especially the background heightening). Unfortunately, only a blurred image was available, making the signature virtually unreadable. But the attribution to John Quincy Adams made by the seller can be considered certain.
