JQAW# L_1903_010
Oil on cardboard on wood 51 x 68 cm
Signature: J. Q. Ɑdams Ski-Heil (redrawn by foreign hand)
Private collection Austria.

One of the few surviving pure landscape paintings by Adams. Undocumented to date. Undated, but classified as pre-1905 (ca. 1903) based on the signature. The picture title Ski-Heil reflects the private interests of the sporty artist, an ambitious skier and mountain ski-tourer (first ascent of the Posthorn with touring skis). Probably created in the area of Lake Wolfgang, where Adams regularly vacationed at the Bürglgut of his parents in law in Strobl and since 1919 also owned his own wooden house in St. Gilgen.
