Farmstead in mountain landscape. Wooden shingle-roofed farmhouse with plastered stone walls with arched door and two small windows. Behind, a farm building with open entrance and a threshing floor, to which a grassy ramp with quarry stone wall is leading.

The earliest surviving landscape painting by Adams, from his student days at the Academy. Probably done in the Tyrolean Alps (cf. watercolor Ötztal from 1894). The farmhouse and foreground are detailed watercolor pen-and-ink drawings. Picture background in classical watercolor technique. Only signature of Adams with "Dürer A". Does not appear in the Künstlerhaus Einlaufbücher or any other Adams literature.
