This undocumented portrait, which only found a buyer at the third auction in the Vienna Dorotheum in 1979, is dated 1912 according to the auction catalog and would thus be one of the few examples where Adams portrayed a person several times. It shows the 18-year-old Jenny Gruder (as a full-length portrait?) and is being sought, above all to make stylistic comparisons with the 1929-1931 portrait, which is documented by photographs. However, it is also possible that the catalogue dating is incorrect and the portrait is identical to the lost 1931 portrait of Jenny Gruder.
